OK, here we are. Finally. Election Day 2010. And just two things left to say.
One, if you haven’t already done so, it’s important to get out and vote. Don’t even think of sitting it out. There’s too much at stake.
Two, when you do vote, remember what’s at stake. And pull that lever for the Democratic candidate for House, or Senate, or Governor.
No matter where you live, that’s your choice. It’s a critical choice. And you will decide. Whether we go forward and continue with the new direction started by Barack Obama – or go backward to the failed policies of George Bush and Dick Cheney.
If you voted for Barack Obama in 2008, you have no choice – but to vote Democratic in 2010.
Disappointed because there’s no public plan option? Get over it. With Republicans in charge, there’ll be no health care reform period.
Unhappy with 9.5 percent unemployment? Who isn’t? But with Republicans in charge, we’ll go back to losing jobs every month.
You think the deficit’s too high? It is. But it’ll be even higher if Republicans get back in power and start spending money again like a drunken sailor.
Which way do we go? It’s up to you.
That’s my parting shot for today.
