Who says elections don’t make a difference?
Who says there’s no difference between the two major political parties?
Today, John Boehner will be sworn in as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives. And what’s the first order of business under the new regime?
As early as tomorrow, House Republicans will vote to repeal the entire Obama health care reform agenda, passed by Congress last year, and replace it – with nothing! Which will have disastrous consequences for millions of American families.
- Insurance companies can once again deny to sell you health insurance because you already have an existing medical condition
- Young people will no longer be covered by their parents health plan, but will have to buy their own insurance, once they’re 18
- Seniors will be, once again, 100 percent responsible for all prescription drug costs over $2,830 dollars. No more donut protection. And…
- No matter how good your plan, insurance companies can drop you like a rock if you get too sick and cost them too much money.
First action by the new Republican majority: Screw consumers and kiss the ass of insurance companies. It can only get worse from here.
That’s my parting shot for today.
