I’ve been around politics a long time. And I’ve heard some pretty wild stories about trouble politicians got themselves into.
But never anything as wild or weird as the latest stuff about Rand Paul.
Not only is he not sure he’d have voted for the Civil Rights Act. Not only does he think water quality, drug trafficking, and mine safety should be handled at the local level. Now it turns out he also kidnaps women – and worships Aqua Buddha!
Yes, according to an unnamed former female fellow student at Baylor University, Paul and a friend kidnapped her, blindfolded her, took her to his apartment and tried to force her to smoke a bong.
When she refused, they took her, still blindfolded, to the banks of a local river and made her bow down and pledge her faith in Aqua Buddha. Hey, I told you it was weird.
Apparently, there was no sexual abuse. No charges were filed. It’s just one anonymous source, so it may not even be true. But, if true, it sure is bizarre behavior – even for somebody stoned on pot.
I might understand Paul’s behavior if he were running for Senate from California. But….Kentucky??
That’s my parting shot for today.
