OK, I’m now convinced: There is no God.
There must be no God because, if there were a God, he would have struck Eric Cantor dead for what he said Thursday.
Eric Cantor, number two Republican in the House, actually accused Democrats of exploiting violence against them for political purposes.
That’s right. Democrats have had racial and homophobic insults hurled at them, had windows broken in district offices, received death threats against themselves and their families – all from tea partiers egged on by John Boehner and other Republican leaders….And Eric Cantor accuses Democrats who received the threats of fanning the flames and playing politics?
Where is God when we need him?
I only have a couple of questions for Eric Cantor.
The FBI looked into these threats and has launched an official investigation. The Capitol Police also looked into them, and has assigned extra security to a dozen or so Members of Congress.
Question for Mr. Cantor: Is the FBI also exploiting these threats for political purposes? Is the Capitol Police? Of course not.
John Boehner, Eric Cantor and their fellow Rethuglicans are solely responsible for the ugliness that reigns in the Capitol today.
They started it, they egged it on, and they own it.
That’s my parting shot for today.
