For the vast majority of Americans, September 11 is a somber day: a day of reflection, sorrow, resolve, and prayer.
Except for two Americans. For Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, September 11 is something entirely different: Like Beck’s August 28 rally in Washington, it was just another chance to make a buck.
While the rest of the country gathered in solemn ceremonies of remembrance, Beck and Palin yukked it in the Anchorage, Alaska Civic Center before a crowd of idiots who paid anywhere from $74 to $225 to see the two Fox broadcasters perform like trained seals.
The big-money extravaganza was especially hypocritical for Glenn Beck, who attacked the families of September 11 victims for trying to milk money out of their grief. But, of course, that outrage only lasted until Beck found his own way to milk money out of September 11.
If there were ever any doubt what Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are all about, Saturday’s event settles that question once and for all.
They are only out for themselves, their own glorification, and any chance to make a buck.
Heck, they would even exploit memories of September 11 to put more money in their own pockets. And just did.
That’s my parting shot for today.
