What’s a person really like? You can tell a lot more by what he does, than by what he says. Especially how he treats other people.
Take Mitt Romney. He talks a lot about caring for the middle class. But his actions say just the opposite.
Ask Dianne Bauer, owner of the Main Street Café in Council Bluffs, Iowa, who shut down her café last week so the Romney campaign could use it for a round table discussion with their candidate.
That’s when her troubles began. According to Ms. Bauer, the arrogant Romney staffers re-arranged the entire café, broke several items, ripped a hole in her roof, and ripped and threw tablecloths in a pile. Not only that, Romney himself never bothered to say hello to her or her workers.
The whole experience, she told reporters, left her wondering: “If that’s how he treated me, is that how he’s going to treat others?”
And, of course, the answer is yes. Romney doesn’t care about little people, because he’s never had to worry about where the next meal or $100 bill was coming from.
That’s my parting shot for today.
