We talked yesterday about the hypocrisy of California’s Meg Whitman.
Campaigning for governor, she demands that employers be held responsible for hiring undocumented workers. Then, it turns out she had an undocumented woman as a maid for nine years – and only fired her once she launched her campaign.
That’s bad enough. Now it’s worse.
Confronted with the facts, Meg Whitman didn’t blame the woman. Nor the employment agency that recommended her. And she certainly didn’t take the blame herself.
Instead, she blamed – Jerry Brown! Claiming he’d “manipulated” the poor Latina into claiming she’d been mistreated and fired.
What a joke! Did Jerry also forge her documents, nine years ago? Did he plant her in the Whitman household? Did he fake a Social Security letter Whitman received in 2003, warning her that her employee might be here illegally?
The whole incident proves two things.
First, that Whitman, like most Republicans, is unwilling to take responsibility for her own actions.
Two, that Whitman is totally out of touch with average Californians – most of whom could never even imagine hiring a maid.
One thing for sure. Jerry Brown never had a maid. He slept on the floor!
That’s my parting shot for today.
