The Republican primary for President has been a running joke from the beginning. But it’s finally reached a new low.
On December 27, just six days before the Iowa caucuses, the final debate for all remaining GOP candidates has been scheduled. It will be sponsored by the ultra-conservative magazine Newsmax, and hosted by none other than – Donald Trump!
What a sick joke. Trump was a monumental embarrassment as a candidate, and was finally forced to abandon his campaign when President Obama proved he was a liar over the birth certificate, Trump’s only issue.
So now he’s back to hosting his dumb reality TV show and hawking his shirts and ties at Macy’s. He has zero credibility as a politician – and even less credibility as a journalist.
Having Trump pretend to moderate a debate for candidates to the highest office in the land makes a mockery of the whole political system – and exposes the Republican Party as nothing but a glorified circus act.
To their credit, Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman have already refused to appear.
To his disgrace, Newt Gingrich has already accepted. But, of course, he’s as big a joke as Donald Trump.
That’s my parting shot for today.
