I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of Mitt Romney whining about how he’s being treated in this campaign.
He keeps complaining about President Obama being too mean. And here he was again yesterday, accusing Vice-President Biden of “hitting a new low” by suggesting Romney’s Wall Street policies would put people “back in chains.”
What Romney doesn’t tell you is he has proposed policies to what he himself calls “unshackle” Wall Street.
And his campaign has named Romney’s plan to repeal Dodd-Frank and get rid of regulations on Wall Street: “Unchain Wall Street.” Which is what prompted Joe Biden to make what was clearly nothing more than a playful play on words.
Meanwhile, the Romney campaign is out with yet another ad accusing President Obama of ending the welfare to work requirement of today’s welfare law – even though Politifact and every other independent watchdog has called that charge an outright lie.
President Obama should channel Harry Truman and tell Mitt Romney: “If you stop telling lies about me, I’ll stop telling the truth about you!”
That’s my parting shot for today.
