It’s open warfare! Not just between the U.S. and Al Qaeda.
It’s open warfare! Between the White House and Fox News.
Not only did President Obama skip Fox when he made the round of Sunday morning talk shows last month, but now top White House aides have declared that Fox is nothing but a Republican propaganda machine and they’re going to treat Fox like the enemy.
All of which is true, but — is it the best strategy for the White House?
Look, no doubt about it. Fox is the anti-Obama network. Fox political shows all plan their broadcasts according to that day’s Republican Party talking points. And even Fox newscasts have a decidedly anti-Obama slant.
But, no matter what the White House does, they’re not going to change that. In fact, the more they talk about Fox, the more Fox bounces up in the ratings. And they’re already well on their way to having the highest ratings of any year since Fox began.
So, my advice to the White House is: Don’t dignify Fox by taking them seriously.
The more they talk about Fox, the more they help Fox.
The best thing to do with the Fox mud-slingers – is to simply ignore them.
That’s my parting shot for today.
