I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: The best thinmg that’s happened to Democrats is Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele.
He is one colossal embarrassment after another.
He has a bad case of foot-in-mouth disease. Suggesting, for example, that the way Republicans were going to appeal to blacks was by inviting them to fried chicken picnics. With watermelon for dessert?
He is badly uninformed. Insisting several times, for example, that public sector jobs aren’t really jobs and that nobody ever loses their job in the private sector. Oh, really?
And he treats contributions to the RNC as his private slush fund. Spending $17,500 last month alone on executive jets; $12,600 on limousine service; tens of thousands on luxury hotel suites; and, most shocking of all, $2,000 in a West Hollywood strip club.
Now, if I were a Republican, I’d want to strip Michael Steele of his chairmanship.
But, as a Democrat, I’m OK with his spending spree. Think of it this way: Every dollar Michael Steele and his staff spend on strippers — is one less dollar they can spend running ads against Democratic candidates.
That’s my parting shot for today.
